It was a really really special moment because winning a stage in the Maglia Ciclamino is always nice. In this photo, you can see I couldn’t believe we won another stage. One victory is maybe a bit of luck but if you win a second stage in five days, it’s not just luck.
We did an amazing job as it was one of the hardest days on the bike. It was so so cold. Everyone was happy after this day. Our DS and the other guys on the team couldn’t believe we won a second stage in five days. It gave a lot of motivation for the next days.
I’m really really happy with photos that capture moments like these. This victory was a bit more special. The first one was more important but if you win a second stage against contenders like Viviani, Caleb Ewan, Gaviria, all the top sprinters… I couldn’t believe it.
